Flow Meter Types.

Electromagnetic flow meters or mag flow meters are by far the most widely used flow meter type across all industries. They use electromagnetic induction to measure water flow and because they contain no moving parts they are a durable and reliable choice.

Ultrasonic flow meters are a cost effective option on larger (>400mm) pipes as some require no cutting into pipe line, with this option the transducers simply fix to the outside of the pipe.

Ultrasonic Flow Meters

Mechanical flow meters or turbine flow meters are a great option for measuring water flow if you’re on a budget. Pulse output options are available via a magnetic reader and cable which can feed feed into a telemetry or manual logger.
